Fighting off the inner demons

Eating up my soul

Trying to fill it with negative thoughts

to destroy the dreams untold

The mind battles on

Emotions drawn

Sucking up the light

I’m too tired to fight

So I must take flight

Find the joy within

Forgive my sins

Past regrets

Make my eyes wet

Wishing it away won’t do

I fall on my knees

I plead & I plead

To release me from this disease

A lesson I must learn

Which voice is right?

I must discern

Otherwise I fail

Success unearned

Purpose unfulfilled
